Academic Medical Center in NYC Seeks Associate Director for
(Cath Lab, EP Lab Services, Short-Stay Unit)

Reporting to the Senior Director of Heart Hospital and Cardiovascular Institute, where you will direct activities within the context of an interdisciplinary model of care to ensure that all strategic, regulatory and operational goals are met. Your leadership will provide leadership in advancing quality of care and service excellence, clinical program development, interdisciplinary care delivery, and financial management.
About the Department:
This position oversees a 35 bed unit that admits 20-25 patients daily, it is a closed unit. NP’s are staffed 24/7 on the unit.
- Cath lab a pre area ( 8 beds pre-cath and a 20 bed recovery area within the lab.)
- In addition scope also includes a 5 bedded recovery area
The Lab averages 40-70 cases per day. The Cath Lab operates 6 days/week (M-Sat)
There are 160 FTE’s within the Lab. Cases are very complex. Patients include adults and peds.
- Cardiac cath lab performed over 5500 cardiac interventions and over 13000 diagnostic caths over recent years.
- Electrophysiology program performed 4500 procedures.
- Participant in Core Valve trial, and also implants Edwards TAVR device as of May 2012.
The position reports to the VP of Cardiac Services. This is a busy, top ranked Cardiac Program. There are 2 other Directors who report over the rest of cardiac areas.
- Must have Cath or EP Lab experience - Cath preferred
- Must be able to operationalize throughput
- Must have 3-4 years as a Clinical Nurse Manager
- strong interpersonal skills able to deal with conflict
